Plot Twist!

Plot twist – This is an unexpected development in a story. It is a deviation from an expected story line.

I recently remembered a plot twist that once happened to me.

So, I was driving home after a very long day at work and when I got to a junction which was usually busy, it was even busier than usual. Infact, it was a traffic jam.

Cars were coming from all directions and there was chaos everywhere. People were trying to squeeze in their cars into any space they saw.

One car in particular was steadily inching towards mine. I ignored the driver because I knew he could obviously see what he was doing.

I focused my gaze on the spectacle before me.

At this point, some people had come out of their cars and were assisting to direct the traffic.

From the corner of my eye, I noticed that the man was still inching towards my car and at this point, there was just a little gap between his car and mine.

I tell him to mind my car, hope he is seeing what he is doing. To my alarm, he was still inching ever so closely to mine. At this point, I raise my voice above the din and alert him that he was too close now.

He was still inching closer!

By now, I was flabbergasted! I shout at the top of my voice, “STOP NOW, SEE HOW CLOSE YOU ARE TO MY CAR!” He then stopped.

You can imagine how worked up I was at this point. What was his aim in doing that? To make the whole thing worse, he was also looking angrily at me like he wanted to say something. And me, oh, I had ALOT to say to him! But I wasn’t going to be the one to start it and if he started, I would be the one to end it!

At that point, traffic eased up a bit, enough for me to drive a bit forward and his window was now next to mine.

I was angrily looking at him and he was angrily looking at me, he opened his mouth to shout and I opened mine waiting for him to drop the first word and I would reply with all my energy!

He shouted to me at the top of his lungs, “I LOVE YOU!”

Woooow! I was surprised, I burst out laughing and shouted back immediately without missing a beat, “I LOVE YOU TOO!”

We then went on our way. Hahahaaa! What a plot twist!!!

It was definitely NOT what I was expecting to happen but it was a pleasant climax to a stressful buildup!
